Melanoma survival rates have been grim up until about 2015 when incredible advances started to become available in clinical trials. Cutting edge treatments like immunotherapy can take situations like mine and turn them into hope. The reason why this is possible is because other patients ahead of me paid the price … joined studies, donated DNA, acted as test patients.
Working with Dr. Hanks and the team at Duke, I was provided with the opportunity to volunteer for a new study in the hopes of helping the people behind me who will battle with Melanoma.
